Faster, Easier and Better: TopXGun Drones Sprays Agrochemical for Wheat in Anhui Province, China
April is the best timing for wheat scab prevention. In April 2020, the government of a town in Fuyang City, Anhui Province, China issued a tender for spraying agrochemical for wheat scab prevention in its jurisdiction.
“This project involves about 8,800 Ha of wheat fields in the whole town. We were excited about winning the bid because it’s such a great opportunity to show the local farmers how efficient and reliable drones can be,” said Mr. Wei, the local dealer of TopXGun.
With more than 50 agricultural drones being used, Mr Wei’s team succeeded in completing the task in one week. TopXGun F10, F12 and F16 were the most used models.
The agrochemical used in this project is Azole ether tebuconazole and Cyhalothrin. For the best effect, all the pilots followed the standard recommended by TopXGun. The flight height is 1.5-2m and the spray range is 5.5-6m. In this setting, the average area F12 can cover in one day is 60 ha while F16 is 80 ha.
To fully support Mr Wei in this project, TopXGun sent out a team of experienced pilots and after-sales staff. They provided advice according to the real situation for the local pilots and share the tips to improve operational efficiency. Meanwhile, if maintenance or technical trouble-shooting is needed, the support team will be there in time minimizing the downtime.
Simultaneous spraying of such a large area of wheat field by multiple drones has aroused the interest of local farmers, who came to the field to observe the operation. “It’s quite often that we need to have some spare drones so that we can switch to them when the working ones crash or have pump problems or blocked nozzles. This saves the time to repair the drones but adds cost. Most done manufacturer/suppliers can’t offer on-site support to help us save both time and money, but TopXGun was able to offer superior service”, said by a local pilot.
“Our service made an impression on the locals. In addition, the new F12 demonstrated stable performance and outstanding flight stability. Its fine atomization ensures good penetration of chemicals. The drone offers AB point flight mode and autonomous mode, which makes the drone easier to operate.” Mr. Wei said.
Though drone technology keeps advancing, accidents in the fields are unavoidable, due to misoperation or complicated field condition. TopXGun drones adopt sturdy materials and scientific structure design. The drone adopts modular design. All the consumable parts, such as propellers, water pumps, nozzles and flow meters can be replaced by users in 5 minutes with a screwdriver.
TopXGun will carry out in-depth cooperation with the dealers in China, offering more on-site and online technology training to improve their ability to better utilize the drones.
“I chose to cooperate with TopXGun when I first flew their drone by myself. Quality and performance are always the top things I care about. Secondly, they really work closely with the end-users (farmers) to get feedback for optimizing the drones rather just sitting in front of computers,” said Mr. Wei. “That’s the way to go!”
